The knowledge of the existing media of communication is a major factor for the success of your investment in the category of this blog – WebYourself. Get ready, because if you want to learn how to use the encoding for the web, and create your first web site, you will have to spend a few hours ahead of this blog and many others to perform experiments on your personal computer.

Although intended illustrate the process and knowledge inherent in the creation of a web page, the efforts for this class i´ll be about the importance of html use tags in our day. This type of communication, which becomes increasingly more popular, is called the hypertext. To start we must not forget the roots because they help us building the future.

First Web Site

After the emergence of the Internet (the 60´s and 70´s) Tim Berners-Lee posted in August 7, 1991 the first website with the explanation of which was the WWW, instructions for setting up browsers and installation and configuration of servers.  The first website was also the first global directory since TBL initially put a list of sites that appeared at the time.

HTML

The HTML (English acronym for the term HyperText Markup Language, which means the Hypertext Markup Language) is used to generate pages on the Web – Tim Berners-Lee created the original HTML.  The language was defined with formal specifications for the 90´s.  Be noted that the specifications for the marking of the web suffered over time changes and today’s already discussed the move to HTML5.

Server / Browser

When you access the Internet, is common, one misunderstood in where is this information and what way we access it. It is intended that from now desmistifique this practice.

When we surf we access other resources housed in other “PC´s” that in contrary to ours are 24 for 24 hours connected to the global network – Internet. These computers are called servers through which the DNS – Domain Name System are liked to the existing content on that computer.

Along with the evolution of the tools available we can highlight the new Opera Browser 10. It still is at the stage of maturation (beta version) but promise to become one of the most fantastic and controversial technology in which the user will share common “information” making his personal computer in a kind of web server.

Protocols

To create a web page both protocols best known and most used are the HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Respectively the protolo we use to view the sites in our browser’s and the protocol that is used to upload files to servers and in the other way also. Should also mention the TCP / IP protocol which is responsible for communication between computers on a network. On the other hand we have the POP, SMTP, IMAP, responsible for communication to a remote e-mailbox. The internet is protocols in everywere but knowing this ones it will be enought for what we need to do – webYourSelf!

Software

We can say that there are basically two sets of software: one that allows the editing of HTML coding (any text editor) and the other another set of software give the name WYSIWYG – What you see is what you get (they can have an visual interface component).

wysiwyg

Personally i use the Adobe Dreamweaver because it is one WYSIWYG HTML editor and in the most web designs i made so far it helped me a lot. You can have a fast clue in what you are doing althought of having to open the saved file in a browser. The image above explain by itself.
